Who I help:
Alyssa is passionate about meeting people right where they are emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Many clients who have felt anxious about beginning therapy have expressed how quickly they felt comfortable with her. Alyssa considers it a great privilege and honor to work with individuals. Her goal is to provide a safe environment that is supportive, non-judgmental, and challenging.
A majority of Alyssa’s work has included partnering with teenagers and their families. Teens face many challenges, and often these challenges manifest as anxiety, depression, self-harm, substance abuse, etc. Parents often feel overwhelmed and at a loss for how to help or connect with their teens. Alyssa believes it is a gift to partner with teens and their parents on their journey during such formative years of growth and transition.
Alyssa graduated from University of St. Thomas / St. Catherine University in 2017 and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She has more than 10 years experience in the field of social work and has worked with individuals in a variety of settings with a spectrum of clients ranging in age, race, socio-economic status, religious affiliation, gender, and sexual orientation. Alyssa’s therapeutic focus utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Shame Resilience, Self-compassion, Mindfulness. She has experience in treating Anxiety, Depression, Gender Dysphoria, Obsessions/Compulsions, Trauma, Life Transitions, and is passionate about Social Justice.
